How lessons work

  1. Every idea starts with something your child already knows, from the kitchen, the garden or the sky, before any new words.
  2. Simple experiments with things you already have at home make lessons hands on, even online.
  3. Your child explains what they think will happen and why, which builds the reasoning secondary school science depends on.

Frequently asked questions

What ages is this science tutoring for?

Children aged 5 to 11: Years 1 to 6 in England, Primary 1 to 7 in Scotland, and Kindergarten to Grade 5 in the US and Canada. From around age 11 we teach biology, chemistry and physics as separate subjects.

Can young children learn science online?

Yes. Lessons are short, lively and full of things to look at and try. Teachers use pictures, videos and household experiments, and keep young children talking rather than just listening.

Which curricula do your teachers follow?

Your child's own: the UK National Curriculum at Key Stages 1 and 2, US state science standards, Canadian provincial curricula and international programmes.
